This is a good one 😂

Can you believe it? Christmas is already here!

The holidays bring so much to enjoy — shopping, parties, delicious food, and quality time with loved ones. But amidst the busyness, it’s important to pause and remember the simple joys that make this season truly special.

As a child, Christmas was all about homemade ornaments, the scent of fresh cedar, and the warmth of family gathered around timeless classics like Miracle on 34th Street and It’s a Wonderful Life. Songs like Silent Night and The Twelve Days of Christmas filled the air, while we hung our stockings with hopeful anticipation.

Now, times have changed. Online shopping has replaced catalog browsing, and movies like Home Alone and Love Actually have become new favorites. Yet, we still carry on old traditions — baking cookies, decorating gingerbread houses, and sharing trays of treats with friends and family. These moments keep the spirit of Christmas alive.

Looking to the future, let’s create memories that will last for generations. Unplug from devices, set aside social media, and reconnect over card games, Monopoly, or even a round of Yahtzee. The laughter and joy of these simple activities remind us that the best gifts require no batteries — just love and togetherness.

But what is Christmas really about?
It’s not about sales or material things. Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus — the moment the Three Wise Men followed the Star to Bethlehem to honor the Newborn King. It’s a time to cherish our faith, give thanks for our blessings, and extend goodwill to others.

We live in a country that grants us the freedom to worship, speak, and live as we choose. Let’s take pride in these freedoms, honor the values that unite us, and focus on the blessings we often overlook.

This Christmas, I wish you peace, joy, and abundance. May your home be filled with warmth, laughter, and the love of family and friends. As we celebrate this season of giving, let’s uplift our community, treasure the strength we find in one another, and look forward to a brighter, more hopeful year ahead.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from my family to yours!
Remember the Reason for the Season.

And as always, know that W. Shane Jennings is here to stand with you and for your rights.

Warm regards,
